It was all a dream…

I always thought I’d be a prosecutor. Like Batman, I was going to put away the bad guys. But in law school, I began to understand how deeply the justice system reflected broader inequities. Prison could not be the solution. I knew then I wanted to help before the criminal justice system.

By divine providence and a few student loans, I followed a path that led first to real estate, managing more than a million square feet of public assets for the District of Columbia and helping schools access safe, functional facilities. From there, I found my way to education, leading citywide initiatives in the Deputy Mayor’s Office and launching the first community engagement division at KIPP DC, one of the largest charter networks in the nation. Whether advising mayors or mentoring students, my work has always been about building systems that honor human dignity and expand opportunity.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve advised CEOs, sitting mayors, community leaders, and funders across the country—helping organizations grow with integrity, navigate complexity, and stay grounded in purpose. My portfolio spans cross-sector partnerships, public policy, philanthropy, and neighborhood revitalization, always with one goal: to help people and communities flourish.

Then came COVID—and with it, a reset. I slowed down, turned inward, and embraced my whole self. I deepened my faith, became a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, and started a new path in wellness that reconnected mind, body, and spirit. I also rethought what education could be and joined EL Education, where the expeditionary model gave me a new kind of guidebook—one rooted in exploration, purpose, and courage.

Now, as a San Diego-based leader, I’m in what I call my “whole self era.” I bring two decades of systems-level experience and spiritual grounding to everything I do—whether advising social impact ventures, supporting community-rooted real estate projects, or guiding others toward work that aligns with both mission and meaning.

Let’s talk—I believe the next chapter of leadership isn’t about titles or sectors; it’s about healing systems, empowering people, and leading from wholeness.
